Steininger "Young" Rose Sekt NV
This family run, sustainably farmed estate is comprised of 135 acres along the Kamp River in lower Austria. Karl Steininger took over his parent’s farm in 1980, and after completing oenology school, he and his wife Brigitta launched the winery in 1989. Today they focus on the region’s famed Grüner Veltliner and Riesling with the help of their daughter Eva and her husband Peter. This next generation works closely with her parents in the cellar and shares a passion for sparkling wine production. Their NV Rosé Sekt (German for sparkling) is their newest bottling: a blend of direct press Zweigelt, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet planted from the Langenlois’ loess and clay soils.
