Just south of Montalcino, Piancornello is a hamlet in Tuscany and home to the Piancornello vineyards and winery. A warm climate and and rocky, mineral rich soils combine to make this one of the finest areas in Tuscany for Brunello production. The Pieri family has spent decades introducing carefully chosen grape clones best suited to the moderately sloping hills of the southern facing property. All the wines produced here are organically certified.
Visually striking, this Toscana Rosso is a deep and lovely ruby red. Vibrant red fruit character and raspberry aromas are accompanied by intense floral notes on the nose. A perfect balance of supple tannins, great balance, acidity and notes of dried herbs reward a bit of time allowing the wine to breathe.
