Join us around the bar at Revel this Memorial Day from 5pm-6:30pm to learn about the fascinating wines and ancient traditions of this Mediterranean island. Wine Educators Brian Acton and Nikki Drake will take you on a guided tour of the island's main DOC's and native grape varieties with some benchmark producers. There will be standout wines from Graci, COS, Manenti, and I Custodi, to name a few. Yes, we will even address Marsala!

Sicily is like Hansel, so hot right now! And, no, that's not a Mount Etna reference--although, if you've seen the news lately, eep! Just in the past two years alone we've seen the imitable Stanley Tucci featuring the island and its wine on his wanderlust inducing show, Searching for Italy, and most recently the dark and ruminative HBO hit White Lotus based their second season on the island.
The wine world was ahead of the trend on this one, with its demand for the island's fine wines, especially those from Mount Etna, far outstripping supply. And for good reason: once fought over by every "globe" conquering force, from the Greeks to the Moors and from the French to the Spanish, Sicily is now the battleground of dynamic wine producers seeking to buck the island's historic trend of bulk and fortified wine production.
There will also be a couple bites from Chef and some fabulous olive oil from Arianna Occhipinti (which you can procure as well, if you act quickly!).
