Domaine & Maison Alexandrins is the next evolution from Maison Nicolas Perrin, a collaboration
between two of the most famous names in the Rhone: the Perrin Family of Chateau de Beaucastel in
Chateauneuf du Pape and Nicolas Jaboulet, the 6 th generation winemaker from the Jaboulet clan on
Hermitage hill. In 2014, the Maison Nicolas Perrin purchased the majority of Domaine Les Alexandrins,
founded in 2009 Alexandre Caso in Crozes Hermitage, to further their holdings in the northern Rhone
and thus Domaine & Maison Alexandrins was born, producing both estate and high quality négociant
wines across the northern Rhone. The 2016 Maison Les Alexandrins Crozes-Hermitage comes from 100%
Syrah grown in both the decomposed granite soils in the northern end of the appellation and the alluvial
soils of south. The juice is cold-soaked before fermentation in tank and aging for 10 months in barrel,
the finished wine is fresh and classic with aromas of fresh black pepper and violets with flavors of
raspberry, black cherry and a bacon-y meatiness.
