Lanny Chardonnay Willamette Valley 2018
Lanny Chardonnay is the first white in our personal series. This Pacific Northwest gem honors Lanny’s legacy and the Moore family’s passion for life, learning and advocacy. It is made by Maggie Harrison, Winemaker and Co-owner of Antica Terra in Oregon’s Willamette Valley and Winemaker/Owner of Lillian in Santa Barbara, California. Maggie Harrison is very well respected for her approach to winemaking, concentrating extensively on sourcing and blending from multiple individual plots that she and her team farm. Maggie spends a lot of time in the vineyards looking at the grapes and soils. She feels it is a delicate balance as to when to pick and she frequently picks very late thereby increasing the ripeness and alcohol levels while still maintaining very high acidity. She makes marvelously complex wines.
Produced from declassified juice sourced from meticulously farmed vineyards throughout Willamette Valley, our 2018 Chardonnay delivers generous aromas, white orchard fruit and a lemon-mineral freshness with perfectly integrated oak from time spent in new and second use barrels.
