La Antigua is produced from high elevation vineyards located in the Sierra de la Demanda area of the Rioja appellation. This terrain here is almost impossible to mechanize, and all vineyard work on the estate is done by hand. The result is wine of precision and elegance – fresh and beautiful to drink now, with enormous potential for longevity. This Reserva is only made in the best vintages and uniquely Garnacha-dominant. The 2010 is comprised of some of the oldest vines of heirloom-clones in all of Rioja. Aged more like a Gran Reserva with 6 years spent in French and American oak, the Antigua Clasico is spicy, smoky, tangy and red fruited, and will pair well with grilled pork and lamb, or a simple cheese and meat board.
