Franz and Mathias Arnold are the 7th and 8th generation working this family winery (established in 1758). Located in Deidesheim, they have approximately 30 acres of vineyards in Deidesheim, Forst, Ruppertsberg in the shadow of the Mittelhaardi Mountain Range. They farm sustainably and are committed to producing the best Rieslings from their estate.
Kimich is from Deidesheimer Herrgottsacker, a large single vineyard with a combination of steep, hilly and flat elevation, and varied soil including sandy loam, mixed with limestone rocks and red sandstone. It is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless tanks, and then ages several months on the lees in stainless steel before being bottled fairly early in the spring of the following year. The word Trocken on the label indicates that the wine is dry (7.5 grams of residual sugar/liter). It is refreshing and versatile—bright yellow colored with green highlights. It has aromas of tart apples, ripe pears and yellow stone fruits. On the palate there are tree and stone fruits as well as sweet lemon/lime and white flowers. It has mouthwatering acidity and is just a super friendly introduction to German Riesling.
