Located in the newly established Van Duzer Corridor AVA, Johan Vineyards has been producing stellar biodynamic wines since 2005. Unlike their neighbors to the east, calcium-rich sedimentary soils define this region, along with non-native erratic granite and relentless coastal winds. This sparkling rosé was made from all estate-grown, Demeter certified Pinot Noir grapes. Carbonation occurs from bottling the wine during the primary alcoholic fermentation in order to capture the carbon dioxide that is being naturally released. Effervescent, fun, and decidedly tart, this unique sparkler, aka Pet Nat or Petillant Natural, is a staff favorite.
