Il Chiosso Ghemme DOCG 2011
Two grape-growing families, Arbunno and Cambieri, originally produced wine privately from their cooler sub-Alpine vineyards in the Novara Hills of northeastern Piemonte. In 2007, they partnered to open a winery and craft reds from several villages of the lesser known appellations of Ghemme and Gattinara. The winery name refers to the old stonewalls of the vineyards and the labels depict ancient astrological methods of measuring the elements affecting the behavior of the wine. Three years aging yields an almost delicate expression of Nebbiolo offering both finesse in fragrance and fine tannin for longevity.
Green farmed in the method of “Lotta Integrata.”
