For generations, the Rillo family has produced wine from Campania's northeast province of Benevento, bordering the Adriatic regions of Molise and Puglia. Their inland position, in the subregion Samnium, is important to the viticultural diversity of this 18 hectare estate, and current stewards of the land, brothers Libero and Giuseppe, skillfully craft everything from sparkling Aglianico to high quality olive oil. This 2018 Greco del Sannio comes from 20 year old vines grown in the region’s typical clay and limestone soils, leading with minerality, bitter citrus, and stone fruit framed by zesty acidity that begs for scallops or squid.
