In planting and planning vineyards for grape growers throughout California, winemaker Andrew Jones sees around 2 to 3 million vines go into the groundeach season, and finds himself with access to small lots of fruit from amazingplaces. His “Field Recordings” are personal records of those experiencescaptured in the bottle - wines that are affordable and exciting, and speak to his passion for farming. The 2017 Skins is a distinctive, slightly floral blendof Chenin Blanc, Pinot Gris, and Verdelho that sees time on the skins and delivers a gentle perfume of peach pit, Fuji apple, pear, orange blossom, lavender, lemon, white pepper, coriander and toasted rye. It is soft-edgedand quietly zesty on the palate, yet fully dry. Perfectly suited to roasted whitemeats and root vegetables or spicy noodle dishes.
