Elio Perrone Bigaro 2019
Sourced from vineyards in the hills of Agliano d'Asti and Nizza Monferrato, Elio Perrone Bigarò is a deep cherry color, with purplish flashes. It brings to mind wild strawberries, raspberries, and spring roses on the nose. It is gently sweet with an equally matched acidity. The wine is typically 50% each Brachetto and Muscat, but that can change if the vintage dictates.
Winemaker Stefano Perrone (Elio's son) made the first vintage of Bigarò in 2001; he was looking for new challenges, and he was inspired to create this softly sweet, gently effervescent sparkler. Wine critic Robert Parker described this inaugural vintage as "beguiling."
From the hills of Agliano d'Asti and Nizza Monferrato, this Brachetto and Moscato blend has a cherry color, with purplish tinges. Ample and irresistible, the wild strawberry and raspberry fruit has intriguing rose petal notes. Sweet with well-balanced acidity, the winery recommends pairing with puddings, cakes, cookies, berry pies, and sherbets. Perfect to drink alone at all times, when in need to take a moment to yourself. Sweet and well equilibrate acidity that makes it a fragrant and well-balanced wine.
