Jared and Tracey Brandt have been making wine naturally in California since the 2003 vintage. After spending a year in France with famed winemaker Eric Texier learning everything they could, they returned home with a mission to make American wines with a sense of place. All ofthe duo’s wines are fermented with native yeast, almost entirely unfined and unfiltered, with only a small amount of sulfur added at bottling. TheGallivanter Red is something of a mystery wine each vintage, and the grape composition changes with every growing season. The 2017 is anaffable Pinot Noir/Syrah blend with bright red fruits, smoke and spice.
