A 12th generation winemaker, Christoph brings a terroir-driven Gruner that is a blend of 32 different barrels and four different vintages - 85% 2016, with the remainder coming from reserve wine from '13, '14, and '15. Christoph believes this adds complexity to the wine and showcases the special terroir of the Hollenburger - a very fine, powdery chalk, much like the Cotes de Blancs in Champagne. His wines are electrifying and his devotion to biodynamic farming and hands-off winemaking makes him one of the new guard of Austrian winemakers to follow closely. From terraced vineyards situated between 250-300 meters altitude, the wine is matured in big, neutral oak casks allowing for a richer texture and pronounced aromas and flavors of lemon curd, apple and hazelnut. Only 100 cases imported.
