Pardi is an important name in hand-crafted products from Umbria, specializing in weaving and winemaking in the town of Montefalco. In 1919, three brothers, Alfredo, Francesco, and Alberto, established the Cantina Fratelli Pardi to produce red and white wine until 1949 when their sons closed the winery. Today the great grandchildren have restored the estate and their 2016 Montefalco Rosso Riserva is an aromatic and concentrated blend of Sangiovese, Sagrantino, Merlot and Cabernet fermented with the skin for 10 days, aged in a combination of barrel, tank, and bottle for 3 years before release. This medium to full bodied red offers incense-like perfume with soft oak, tobacco aromas, and rich dark red fruit perfect for pairing with grilled meats and winter risottos.
