Cambridge Road Under Your Skin Orange Field Blend 2019
Based at the Southern end of the North Island of New Zealand, half way between the mountains and the sea, Cambridge Road is part of the Martinborough Terrace Appellation. Here owner/winemaker Lance Redgwell practices biodynamic and minimal intervention farming of white and red varieties on alluvial, clay, loam and volcanic soils. His 2019 Under Your Skin is a blend of skin contact Muscat of Alexandria, Viognier, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Riesling, and Sauvignon Blanc. This juicy, aromatic orange wine sees no sulphur and was bottled without filtration.
Cloudy pale orange color. Clean, developing, pronounced intensity nose of honeysuckle, grapefruit, orange zest, wet slate and yeast. Dry, med alcohol, med body, high zippy acidity and light tannins. Pronounced intensity flavors of grapefruit, honeysuckle and fine yeast notes on the palate leading to a long mouth watering finish. Very good wine. Drink now, but suitable for further aging. Good QPR.
