Weingut Bründlmayer consists of approximately 90 hectares of vines, all farmed organically, and produces traditional method sparkling wine, white wines from Riesling and Grüner Veltliner, and reds and rosés from Zweigelt--not to mention top notch Pinot noir and Chardonnay! This whole hurly-burly is kept on track by the watchful eye of Willi Bründlmayer, who has been lauded as the best Austrian winemaker of the last 25 years, with the help of Andreas Wickhoff MW since 2016.
 
The Brut Rosé is an assemblage of Pinot noir, St. Laurent, and Zweigelt--with some still red Zweigelt used for color. The base wines ferment in stainless steel and mature in large traditional oak casks. Malolactic fermentation is completed. After refermentation in bottle, the wine spends 18 to 24 months on the lees before disgorgement. This is a rosé of subtlety and sophistication, as opposed to power and presence. You might say that it is comfortable in its own skin. Red berry fruits are complemented by toast and spice, a fine mousse, and a finish that is buoyed by an expressive citrus inflected acidity.
