Broglia Gavi La Meirana 2019
The original commune of Gavi, indicated by “Gavi di Gavi” is the finest vineyard area for the native Cortese grape. The wine has an historic past, as it was the favorite of the fish restaurants on the Italian Riviera. The Broglia family owns and farms the oldest vineyard site, “La Meirana” dating back to 972 AD in the land records of the Kingdom of Genova. Production and wine making is done in concert with several universities for superior clonal grape plantings and sulfite free or low sulfite applications. Vines are 30 years old giving lower yields for flavor in this “Chablis” of Piemonte.
