Natasha Williams, winemaker at Bosman Family Vineyards, is a young winemaker fuelled by curiosity, compassion for nature, and an appreciation for good wine. Natasha hails from the small village of Saron in the Western Cape and from a young age she “found her peace”, as she calls it, in science and nature, making oenology a natural study choice. She started her career in 2013, when she graduated from Stellenbosch University with a BSc Agri. Degree in Oenology. She completed an internship at a prestigious Stellenbosch estate, where she gained invaluable knowledge in varieties such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon blanc and Shiraz. She expanded her experience into new world wine styles in California with the focus on Pinot noir, Sauvignon blanc and Chardonnay. While keeping a firm appreciation for old world wines. She joined the Bosman winemaking team in 2014, where she manages the wine outcomes for the Bosman Family Vineyards cellar.

The Bosman family have a history of growing wine in the Bovlei of Wellington, dating back to 1810. Through eight generations they have worked hard to create a better life for all who live and work on the farm, rising to challenges and finding solutions, often in the unexpected. Wine is made in their historic 260 year old cellar.

This 2019 Shiraz is one of the new approachable range of wines by Bosman Wines which are in essence a tribute to the eighth generation of the Bosman family, who has now taken over the reigns and continues to run the farm with incredible commitment to the land, the quality of wine and its dedicated people. Sorted, de-stemmed, slightly crushed grapes fermented at lower temperatures (24-26°C) and matured in the equivalent of 225l barrels of which a third was new French oak.
