Antiquum Farm Aurosa Willamette Valley 2019
Antiquum Farm sits at the southern end of the Willamette Valley. producing some of the most highly sought after fruit in the region. Owner/winemaker Stephen Hagen and his family participate in the meticulous farming of their vineyard through agricultural methods they call “Grazing Based Viticulture.” For his 2019 Aurosa, Stephen farms the Pinot Gris more like a high end Pinot Noir, with shoot positioning and more sun exposure to the clusters throughout the growing season. The fruit is gently crushed and left on the skins for 24 hours before harvesting the free run juice. Aurosa is barrel fermented, and rests on lees for 5 months to build layers of texture and complexity.
