Ameztoi Hijo de Rubentis Extra Brut Rose 2016
Ignacio Ameztoi is a fifth generation txakolina winegrower in the Basque province of Getaria. Ignacio’s fearless pursuit of innovation has gained him respect for producing both traditional wines and as an innovator of rosé txakolina and méthode traditionnelle sparkling wines. Ameztoi's Txakoli are built with high acidity and low alcohol, utilizing only native varieties hondarrabi zuri and hondarrabi beltza. The grapes for Hijo de Rubentis, meaning “Son of Rubentis” are picked early, then fermented in tank utilizing indigenous yeasts from the vineyard. The resulting wine is aged on the lees for 14 months and dosed to 6 g/l before release.
