This 2017 Scheurebe is a cross of Riesling and, presumably, an unknown, wild variety (similar to Sylvaner) developed by Dr. Scheu in 1916. The successful seedling was #88 and thus the new variety was named Sämling (English – seedling) 88 in Styria. Rich aromas of orchard fruit and wild flowers lead to ripe stone fruit flavors with excellent acidity and structure, reminding you a little of Sauvignon Blanc. A unique wine and a perfect refreshing warm weather white.
