2006 FOUR VINES OFFERING
Remember the good old days, when you could find Four Vines wine on the shelf? Perhaps the Old Vines Zin, maybe some Maverick, and The Heretic every once in a while. Unfortunately those days are long gone. Four Vines is now one of the hottest wineries in California and allocations of the 2006 new releases have been severely limited.
If you aren’t familiar with Four Vines Winery, here’s the skinny:
They are a hedonistic group led by winemaker Christian Tietje that specializes in old vine Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, and Rhone varieties. Makers of fleshy, seductive wines for aficionados and hedonists alike, Four Vines brings a refreshing, playfully irreverent attitude to the industry.

"Anarchy", Central Coast (Syrah, Mourvedre, Zinfandel) $39.99
This unconventional Rhone blend is based on Syrah for that velvet mouthfeel and rich fruit, Old Vine Zin for spice and that brambly backbone, and Mourvedre provides some anise and makes the whole blend resonate. If you like the Rhone this wine will blow you away! 571 six-packs produced.
"Peasant", Paso Robles (Syrah, Mourvedre, Grenache, Counoise) $39.99
This traditional Rhone blend is 32% Syrah, 40% Mourvedre, 17% Grenache, 7% Counnoise, and 4% Tannat. Picture a night with Bridget Bardot wrapped in velvet. 784 six-packs produced.
